Station and Apparatus Visits
Portsmouth's Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services
Department strongly believes
that it is more efficient to expend effort and resources to prevent emergencies than to
respond to them. It is also safer for you, our customers, and for our responders. To that
end, we routinely appear at public events to demonstrate our
apparatus and equipment and to provide home and fire safety education. We also welcome
community groups to their local fire stations to experience first hand how we operate and live.
If you or your community group would like to schedule a station or
apparatus visit, please contact the Fire Marshal Office at 757-393-8689. We will need
the following information in order to honor your request:
-
Name of sponsoring organization
-
Name of contact person for the event
-
Phone number of contact person
-
Email address of contact person
-
Requested date of visit
-
Location requested
-
Number of adults and children expected
-
Any special circumstances or needs for
the event
Please be aware that meeting
our operational duties is
our first priority. There will be times that we are unable to
schedule events or have to cancel an event.
However, we will do our best to follow up and reschedule another
visit.
Follow this link to read our
guidelines for station and apparatus visits. We
recommend that you print them for review while
planning your requested activity.
